TEAM IN JAPAN

dotTEAM's major emphasis in Japan is church planting. The goal is to build healthy, reproducing churches. TEAM has started over 200 churches since World War II, but that is drop in the bucket compared to the vast numbers of unreached Japanese. Existing Japanese churches must reproduce themselves. Unfortunately, because of their small size (30-35 members), many are not able to do so yet, and are crying out for missionary help.

dotTEAM plants churches by partnering with existing Japanese churches and amplifying their outreach, or by sending teams of missionaries into areas with no churches.

dotTEAM has a flexible, innovative approach to church planting, and incorporates a wide variety of strategies (traditional, seeker, cell, purpose-driven) and outreaches (preaching, friendship evangelism, cooking classes, gospel choirs, literature distribution, and more). TEAM emphasizes the use of short term workers to complement the outreach of full-time missionaries.

dotTEAM has one of the largest groups of full-time missionaries in Japan. They are tremendously passionate, gifted, and experienced in ministry to the Japanese. Kyehee and I are honored and excited to be a part of TEAM's staff and strategy to reach Japan.

dotTEAM has started many important ministries in Japan, and then eventually turned them over to national workers. Two Bible institutes, a book publisher, a TV / radio broadcasting network, a tract printer, and several Bible camps are all now run by the Japanese church.

dotTEAM missionaries are currently involved in the leadership of two new innovative ministries in Japan: Family Forum Japan (FFJ) and Christians in the Arts Network (CAN). TEAM also operates a Christian academy (grades K-12), and a language school used by many missionaries to Japan. If you think God may be calling you to help reach Japan, definitely consider serving with TEAM!

dotBut where do our gifts and talents fit in with TEAM Japan?
