God Has Prepared Us

Ministry: Many years and many ways of serving Christ.

dotWhile still in Bible college, Steven's first ministry was leading the Young Adult Ministry at his home church. He discovered his love of teaching God's Word and working with small discipleship groups.

dotSteven also served two years part-time with the Wales Goebel Ministry, and was active in one-on-one street witnessing and door-to-door evangelism.

dotDuring this time, he participated in a 3-month mission to Kenya, East Africa. He helped drill water wells, build a youth center, distribute food to remote tribes, and spoke in schools and youth conferences.

dotDuring his third year at Dallas Seminary, Steven became youth pastor at a Korean church in North Dallas. His ministry expanded, and soon he was also in charge of the Children's Ministry, and then College Ministry, too. He served there for four years, and then the church merged with a larger Korean church.

dotAt The Korean Church of Dallas, a 400-member church in Carrollton, Steven worked as Associate Pastor in charge of the English Outreach. Steven loved preaching God's Word every Sunday, teaching Bible studies on Friday nights, leading small groups on Wednesdays, and doing lots of one-on-one counseling.

dotGod blessed this ministry, and "EO" soon became an English-speaking daughter church working under the wing of the Korean congregation.

dotWithin five years, the ministry had grown to include, not just English-speaking Koreans, but many other Asian groups as well. This group was sent out to become Living Word Bible Fellowship, and Steven served as lead pastor for three years.

dotAfter 13 great years working with Asian Americans in Dallas, Steven accepted an offer from GlobeWorks International, a missions agency based in Birmingham.

dotFrom 2002 until 2008 he served as Ministry Administrator, coordinating a support network to some 45 indigenous church planters in 10 countries. He was also Director of GlobeWorks' outreach to the Dominican Republic, and traveled there every three months for ministry. His special project for the last two years he was at GWIM was the DominiKids orphanage.

dotWhen she went to Seoul for college, Kyehee was very involved in the ministry of her church. She served as a leader in the college cell group program, where she had many opportunities to shepherd and counsel young believers.

dotKyehee served as soloist in the church choir, and directed a college evangelistic choir that performed in special outreach.

dotKyehee also served in a ministry to neglected children in the inner city of Seoul. For four years she went once a week to teach, encourage and love them to Christ.

dotAfter marrying Steven in 1996, Kyehee came to America as a pastor's wife. She became an important part of Steven's ministry, joining him in counseling church members, and frequently opening their home to groups of all sizes.

dotAt Living Word Bible Fellowship, Kyehee was also involved in discipling and counseling ladies in the church. She was active in the children's ministry, helping teach and leading music.

dotKyehee's greatest ministry these days is discipling and home-schooling her three children. She is also a member of the church choir, and serves in children's ministry.

dotSteven and Kyehee both serve in the International Ministry at their home church, and teach a class of new believers there.
